How do I calculate percentage? How do I do it in a fraction? What is the percentage of 8/15?

Percentages are so easy that people just don't realize how simple they are.

Instead of saying 1 we say "100%." Instead of saying half we say "50%."

If 1 = 100%, then .1 or 1/10 = 10%.

What about 7/16 (not quite the problem you gave). Well, we know that 7 is about half of 16, so the percentage should be around 50%. Once you have made that estimate (which you should always do!) you do the division: 7/16, which, according to my calculator is .4375.

Yep, .4375 is about half (50% = half) so the answer is 43.75%

How can we be sure that it is not .43% or 430%? Because we estimated that the answer was close to HALF, which is 50%. 43.75% is close to half - much closer than 437% or 4.37%How do I calculate percentage? How do I do it in a fraction? What is the percentage of 8/15?
Multiply with 100.

(8/15)* 100 = (0.5333)*100 = 53.33%

Eg, your test is for 30 points and you got 27, and you need the percent then

(27/30)* 100 = 90%How do I calculate percentage? How do I do it in a fraction? What is the percentage of 8/15?

Just enter that into a calculator. It gives you .533333 so it would be 53.3%.
