How do I calculate a percentage?

I'm looking for the method not the answer. if were selling tickets for a venue and the venue capacity is 350 and I have sold 126 tickets, how do I work out a percentage of whats been sold, eg if I had sold 175 tickets I would say its 50% sold.How do I calculate a percentage?
126 tickets sold against 350 capacity.

Percentage sold = (126/350)*100 = 36
Using this way

let 350 tickets be -----%26gt; 100 %

then 126 tickets -----%26gt; ? %

Now use the cross multiplication

==%26gt; ? % = (126 x 100 % ) / 350 = 36 %

Check the answer again cause i didnt use the calculator to calculate ! but thats the way to caluclate!

hope i helped you:DHow do I calculate a percentage?
It's just:

126 divided by 350, then multiply if by 100% to get percentage.

it's always (no. you're trying to find percentage of) divided by (total number), then multiply by 100% (total percentage)

Gd luck! ^^
126 divided by 350 x 100 = 36%

divide venue capacity by the number of tickets sold then multiply by 100 for %How do I calculate a percentage?
If I'm not mistaken you put the number sold out of the total you can so 126 / 350 which is .36, and then move the decimal over to the right twice to get 36%
this is the formula:

tickets sold / total tickets

so,

126/350 = .36

.36 (move two decimal places to the right) = 36%
If you had sold 126 tickets, (126/350)*100 = 36% have been sold

If you had sold 175 tickets, (175/350)*100 = 50% have been sold
[ (number of tickets sold) / (venue capacity) ] * 100%

that's the method...
for example let it be 350 tickets=100%

126 tickets=x

now we make the proportion

350/126=100/x =%26gt; 126*100=350*x =%26gt; x=36% here u are the answer
sold tickets/total amount of tickets is the percentage of sold tickets

126/350
part divided by whole. 126 divided by 350. move the decimal point over two spaces to the right.
(your number / total number) * 100

126 / 350 = 0.36

0.36 * 100 = 36%
(126/350) x100=36%
