Calculate the percentage of dextrose when 45 grams are added to 500 ml of sterile of water?

I'm assuming we're calculating weight per volume (w/v)?





If so, then a 1% solution is defined to be 1 g/100 mL. So, just divide 45 g by 500 mL to get the %.





45g / 500 mL = 9% solution
