Can you explain how to calculate the percentage of water this these 2 formulas?

numbers after the letters are suppose to be in subscript

MnSO4.H20

and

ZnSO4.7H2OCan you explain how to calculate the percentage of water this these 2 formulas?
You need to determine the molecular weight for each of the two compounds. For MnSO4.H2O there is 1 mole H2O for every mole of MnSO4. The percent water would be 18 (molec. wt of water) divided by the molecular wt. of MnSO4.H2O times 100.

For ZnSO4.7H2O there are 7 moles of water for each mole of ZnSO4. The percent water would then be (7 x 18)/molec. wt. ZnSO4.7H2O x 100.
