How do I calculate percentage between 2 numbers?

Let's say you have two numbers, 40 and 30.

30/40*100=75. So 30 is 75% of 40.

40/30*100=133. So 40 is 133% of 30.

The percentage increase from 30 to 40 is

(40-30)/30 * 100 = 33%

The percentage decrease from 40 to 30 is

(40-30)/40 * 100 = 25%.

These calculations hold true whatever your two numbers. How do I calculate percentage between 2 numbers?

What the percent button does is just multiply by 100.
give me the numHow do I calculate percentage between 2 numbers?
say 20 out of 50 cats are black. take 20/50 set it equal to x/100 and cross multiply.

20 * 100 = 2000

50 * x = 50x

so 50x = 2000

2000/50 = x

x = 40

so your answer would be 40% are black cats.

you can also divide 20/50... this gives you .40 which is the same as 40/100 which we know is 40%
Like, percent difference?

The percent difference betwen 23 and 37, we'll use that as our example.

The formual for percent difference is

(larger - smaller)/smaller

So the percent difference between 23 and 37 is

(37-23)/23 = 61 percent.How do I calculate percentage between 2 numbers?
Divide 1 number by the other to get the percentage, then multiple the result by 100.

1/2 = 1 divided by 2 times 100 = 50%

2/1 = 2 divided by 1 times 100 = 200%

1/4 = 1 divided by 4 times 100 = 25%
divide
Be careful of terminology, there is a difference between percentage and percent.

Consider the numbers 22 and 45. If you are asked to find what percent 22 is of 45 one divides 22 by 45. (22 is called the percentage.) The decimal one gets can be expressed as a percent by writing the hundredths before the decimal. In this problem. the quotient is .4889, which converts to 48.89% ( I have rounded off the percent to the nearest one hundreth of a percent.)

If you were asked what percent 45 is of 22 one would divide the percentage, 45 by the base 22 and get approximately 2.0455, which is 204.55%
