How do I calculate what percentage I need on the final for an A in the class?

Finals are worth 10% of our grade.

For example if I have a 91.2% what percentage will I need on the final in order to get a 93% or above.

Also how do I calculate what I need to get on the final to stay at an A?

A = 93% and above

Thanks a lot for your help and information.How do I calculate what percentage I need on the final for an A in the class?
Well you have to weight it:

10 percent = .1

.1 *(test score)+ the other weighted scores (your grades) divided by the sum of the total weighted score

So let's say 10% test, 90% hw

(.1 * test score + .9 * your hw scores) /( .1 total test score + .9 total hw scores.)

So now you use algebra:

let's call that denominator I mentioned above N

.93N(since you want a 93 or higher) = (.1 *test score + .9 hw scores)

.93N-(9 *hw scores) = .1 test score

.93( .1 total test score + .9 total hw scores.)

- .9 * hw scores / .1

=test score
