How to calculate a Percentage?

I am mathematically challenged trying to figure out how to "easily" calculate the percentage of a figure. Example: If I am selling something which retails for $14,000.00 but am asking $2,500.00 how do I figure out the percentage off? I'd like to know this formula to arrive at the correct percentages each time, not matter what the amount is. Thanks in advance!How to calculate a Percentage?
Subtract the sale price from the retail price to get the discount, then divide the discount by the retail price. So...

RP - SP = D

D / RP = D in %

For example, with your scenario, $14,000 - $2,500 = $11,500. $11,500 / $14,000 = .821, or roughly 82% off.
You need to take the amount of the discount (in this case: 14000 - 2500 = 11,500) and divide by the original price.

For the example: 11,500/14,000 = .8214

To make this a percent, multiply by 100. Therefore, it is 82.14% off.How to calculate a Percentage?
Reduction = $2,500

Reduction = (2,500 / 14,000) x 100 %

Reduction = (25 / 140) x 100 %

Reduction = (250 / 14) %

Reduction = 18 % (to nearest whole number)
Easiest way I whole:

the small part divided by the whole will give you the percentage in decimals:

Whole = 50

Small Part = 5

5 / 50 =.10 or 10%How to calculate a Percentage?
$14,000.00 - $2,500.00 = $11,500.00 then 11,500/14,000 = 82.14% off.
