How do I use microsoft excel to calculate percentage?

If you have a value you want to make a percentage:


Right click on the cell, choose Format Cells...


On the first tab "Number", select "Percentage" from the Category list. Click "OK"





In the cell create the calculation that derives the %.


Example


................Column A........Column B


Row 1...|...Inventory......|...100... ...|


Row 2...|...Items Sold...|.....75... ...|


Row 3...|...% of Total....|.=B2/B1...|








[ignore all the "." -- y! answers disallows long lines of characters]
