Calculate the percentage of a piece of ice that will float above the surface of seawater.
density ice = 0.92g/ cubic centimeter
density seawater= 1.03g/cubic centimeter
how do i figure this out?Calculate the percentage of a piece of ice that will float above the surface of seawater.?
8.9 or About 9%.
Buoyancy is the key here. Density of the object floating/density of the water= amount above water.
So, if the seawater is 1.03 and the ice is .92, .92/1.03= .89, which gives you you're 8.9%
