Completed college:
= 100%(34,048/108,862)
= 100%(17,024/54,431)
= 1,702,400/54,431%
= 31 15,039/54,431%
Answer: 31% completed college
-----------
Completed a bachelors degree:
= 100%(19,102/108,862)
= 100%(9,551/54,431)
= 955,100/54,431% or 17 29,773/54,431%
Answer: 18% completed a bachelors degreeCalculate percentage!?
There are 3 pieces of information in percentage problems: Rate, Part, Whole
Rate is related to % as follows:
% = 100 * Rate
If you know the Rate, multiply by 100 to get the corresponding %
If you know the %, divide by 100 to get the Rate
The following diagram shows the percentage problem arithmetic:
Part
------------------
Whole * Rate
If you know the Rate and the Whole, multiply them to get the Part
If you know the Rate and the Part, divide the Part by the Rate to get the Whole
If you know the Part and the Whole, divide the Part by the Whole to get the Rate
----------------------------
34,048 as percentage of 108,862
Whole = 108,862
Part = 34,048
Rate = 34048/108862 = .3127
% = 100(.3127) = 31.27 or 31% rounded completed college
100(19102/108862) = 18% rounded completed bachelors degreeCalculate percentage!?
Depends what percentage you are trying to calculate.
34,048/108,862 x 100 = 31.3% completed college
19,102/34,048 x 100 = 56.1% of those who completed college have a bachelors degree
19,102/108,862 x 100 = 17.5% of the total surveyed have a bachelors degree
