Calculate percentage?

How can I calculate the percentage increase through the years in these number. Please show me how.

2005 2006 2007 2008 Years

3873 3484 3581 3521Calculate percentage?
It's the change over the initial.

So from '05 to '06, it went down from 3873 to 3484.

The difference is : -389. Divide this by the original value (3873), it gives you: -0.10044, so a loss of 10.04%.

From '06 to '07, it goes up from 3484 to 3581.

Difference is : 97. Divide it by the original value (3484) gives you: 0.0278, or a gain if 2.78%
just subtract the the numbers and divide by the start number, like for the first one you would do (3484-3873)/3873

make it a good day.Calculate percentage?
percentage increase = [increase x 100 ] / the original amount
You asked to show you how:

Year 1 value = x

Year 2 value = y

% change = (y-x)/x

Example:

2005: 3873

2006: 3484

% increase = (3484-3873)/3873 ~ -.1004 ~ -10.04%Calculate percentage?
i think

take2005 standard so

100%=3873

(3484*100%)/3873
