my CC processor charges me 2.75 % ... if i simply charge them 102.75, i will still be charged 2.75% on teh $2.75 and will not end up with 100?
please provide formula to determine proper percentage markup.
100 * XXX% - 2.75% = 100
ThanksCalculate percentage of increase to retain full amount after fee?
Let x = the markup
100 + x - [0.0275 (100 + x)] = 100
100 + x - 2.75 - 0.0275x = 100
97.25 + 0.9725x = 100
0.9725x = 2.75
x = $2.83 markup
Check
102.83 x 2.75% = 2.83
Since we used $100 as an example, 2.83% will also be your markup for all future costs.
*Note: The actual percentage comes out to 2.82776349614396%, so I rounded it to 2.83. Your numbers will not always come out exact.
