How do you calculate percentage increase?

if someone wants to calculate how many percent did a amount increase from last year's, how do they calculate?



for example, my sales increased from $6,752,028 to $9,427,373...what was the percentage increased?

Find the increase by subtracting,

$ 9427373 - 6752028 = 2675345

divide this by the original sales figure

2675345 梅 6752028

= 0.3962

Multiply by 100 to get percent,

6,752,028+ 6,752,028 (x/100) = 9,427,373



6,752,028(x/100) = 2,675,345



67,520.28 x= 2,675,345



x=39.6



39.6% rounded...
